In September 2013, Deputy Minister of Mining G.Temuulen was appointed as one of the three members representing Mongolia on the Board of Directors of Oyu Tolgoi LLC.

Last week he submitted a letter of resignation to Erdenes Mongol LLC and the company has accepted his request.

As stipulated by the law, state officials and executive officials of political parties are prohibited from being members of a Board of Directors of a state-owned company or from owning licenses for strategically important mining deposits.   

G.Temuulen was appointed Deputy Director of Erdenes Mongol LLC in 2009. In December 2014 he was appointed Deputy Director of the Ministry of Mining. He states that he has resigned from his position at OT under the principles of transparency, good governance, and political ethics.
