Commemorating
the 804th anniversary of Great Mongolian Empire and 89th
anniversary of People’s Revolution, Mongolians living in South Korea celebrated
the national Naadam festival in Seoul. The celebration took place on 11th
of July and was organized by Mongolian Embassy, Korea’s Labor Ministry, Mongolian
Consul in Seoul, COMEX association and Industrial Human Resource Department.
The
organizers showed President Ts.Elbegdorj’s video greetings for Mongolians living
in South Korea. Ambassador D.Gerel opened the festival. Traditional games were held
as 64 wrestlers with titles of provinces, 29 archers and 48 people competed in
ankle bone match. Other contests such as basketball and tug of war also took
place.
Folk
cultural shows entertained the audience. More than 5000 Mongolian citizens turned
out in the event.
