The German project developer and primary shareholder of the Sainshand Wind Park project, Ferrostaal Industrial Projects GmbH, has announced that the construction and preparation work for the wind farm will begin in April.  

The total annual production of the wind farm is expected to be 190 gigawatt hours of energy, and in plans are in place for the park to be connected to the central energy grid by 2016. 

A year-long wind study showed that the average wind speed at the location of the wind park was 7.4 meters per second, confirming Mongolia's amazing wind energy resources.

Investment required for Sainshand Wind Park is approximately 110 million USD and financing of the project will come from the world's leading banking and financial institutions.  

In February 2014, Ferrostaal Industrial Projects GmbH bought the majority of shares of the project and has since been moving forward in its implementation.  

The Sainshand Wind Park project will be carried out by Ferrostaal Industrial Projects GmbH in partnership with Mongolian energy companies.
