As of February of this year, the rate of inflation has reached 9.3 percent. However, the inflation rate of Ulaanbaatar is lower than the average national inflation rate, as it is 8 percent.
According to the National Statistical Committee, as of July of last year, the inflation rate reached 14.9 percent, which was the highest rate in the last two years. This means that Mongolian purchasing power has fallen by 15 percent.
At the Financial Stability Council meeting which was held today the following issues were discussed: the inflation rate and factors which have influenced it.
The Financial Stability Council consists of the following officials: Minister of Economy J.Erdenebat, President of Mongol Bank N.Zoljargal, and Chairman of the Financial Regulation Committee Z.Narantuya.
