The Women’s Democracy Network of the International Republican Institue granted Jeane J. Kirkpatrick award to Member of Parliament S.Oyun.

The award is granted to democratic women who are working in order to protect women’s rights worldwide.

The award initially was created for the memory of  Jeane J. Kirkpatrick, founder of the Democratic Women's Federation and served as a U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Together with the MP S.Oyun, the President of Finland, Tarja Kaarina Halonen, received this award.
