Prime Minister Ch.Saikhanbileg participated in the television program “Time & Viewpoint”, aired by Mongolian National Broadcaster, and answered questions on pressing topics now facing society.

The Prime Minister distinctly explained his future plans. Although the Prime Minister has initiated a policy to tighten up the nation's massive welfare policy, due to debate among political parties, it has been decided that the allocations of multiple welfare programs will continue.

During the conversation, the Prime Minister stressed that he is satisfied with measures taken to trim the annual budget. For instance, 15 percent of jobs in the ministries and state agencies have been cut, and pensions for retired civil servants equivalent to three years' salary will be stopped.

During the governance of the Reform Government, the number of civil servants increased dramatically. Ch.Saikhanbileg's Government for Solutions is maintaining a policy to determine the most efficient number of civil servants.

The Prime Minister noted ways to get out of the economic crisis.

One of the important roles of the Government for Solutions is to at least avoid deepening the crisis, to try maintaining stability in case there is no way out of the crisis, and to launch strategic projects. In order to reach this goal, all parties with seats in the Parliament have decided to co-operate.

He stressed that there are only two ways to increase the currency exchange rate: putting into circulation investment projects such as Oyutolgoi and Tavantolgoi, or creating a more disciplined economy.

The host of "Time & Viewpoint" left the Prime Minister with these thoughts:

The Mongolian nation knows that without placing mineral resources in economic circulation, Mongolia can’t be developed. But most of us like to follow populist ideas.

There is no need to ask citizens about it if even 76 MPs sitting in Parliament can't maintain the policy of a consolidated government.

Prime Minister, you have the power to realize and do it. Thus, realize it in a courageous and determined way.

If we Mongolians would like to have an accountable and developed economy, we should launch the Tavan Tolgoi and Oyu Tolgoi projects and cut the massive welfare policy.  We Mongolians should maintain all policies dedicated to the prosperous development of Mongolia. We at least need to value this policy.

One more time, Honored Prime Minister, be courageous and determined in order to realize this policy.

If the latest goal is in the interest of Mongolia, strictly protect your position.

Lastly, others should not become a barrier for the implementation of policy and making and disseminating populism.
