Deputy Prime Minister meets with Japanese Ambassador

Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh met with Takenori Shimizu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from Japan to Mongolia, to discuss cooperation between Mongolia and Japan.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that the grant aid provided by the Japanese government has played an important role in the foundation of present development and in enriching the development and innovation of democracy in Mongolia.  He shared that the Government of Mongolia is appreciative of the support of the Japanese government.

During the meeting, Ambassador Shimizu stated that the continuation of projects implemented between the Japanese government and National Emergency Management Agency of Mongolia, the “Avian Influenza and Combating Avian Flu Epidemic” program, and the “Increasing the Potential of Fire Fighting Technique and Equipment” program will be discussed.   

According to a decree by the Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, in honor of his contributions to the emergency management sector, the Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia has been awarded a medal for “Leader of National State Emergency”.

Ambassador Shimizu invited Deputy Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh to participate in the United Nations' 3rd World Conference to Prevent Disasters being organized from March 14 to 18, 2015, in Japan. 

As reported by his office, Deputy Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh previously participated in the U.N. conference when he served as Head of the National Emergency Management Agency of Mongolia.
