It has been long since Orbis International operated in Mongolia. Since 1989 Orbis International has conducted various programs including 7 Flying Eye Hospital programs and 9 hospital based programs in Mongolia.

Orbis International is now focusing on strengthening and supporting the Model of Excellence in Modern Ophthalmology (MEMO Mongolia) Adult and Pediatric Vision Network projects that have been planned in cooperation with the Mongolian Ministry of Health.  September in collaboration with the National Center for Maternal and Child Health, Orbis International  have launched a program to create a model comprehensive vision care network in  5 provincial  (county-level) hospitals in rural Mongolia for five years period.

launching the program the country can continue to build a strong, high-quality service for children and avoid and cure visual impairment.
