Turquoise Hill Resources announced that a fire occurred at the Oyu Tolgoi processing plant on December 3rd. Today, preparation for resuming operations at the processing plant have begun.
An inspection and estimation of damages begins as investigation of the fire finished on Thursday. Preliminary results of the inspection suggest that there was no serious damage.
No one was injured in the fire. Processing plant operations were halted to meet employee safety standards and let inspection agencies investigate the fire.
The fire did not reach the grinding ball mill or super-voltage power supply at the processing plant.
As the inspection and investigation is over, operations at the processing plant could resume today.
