The Democratic Party's candidate for PM, Ch.Saikhanbileg, has been under the protection of state security since Friday.

The President, Prime Minister, Speaker of the State Great Khural and candidates for these post are receive special security as stated in the Mongolian Law on Special State Protection.

On October 2, 1998, Mongolian parliamentarian S.Zorig was assassinated following his nomination for PM.

Although the candidate Ch.Saikhanbileg has not yet been accepted as PM by Parliament, the DP candidate is still under special security measures to reduce the risk of any threats against him.
