The Mongolian Academy of Sciences highest honor, the Khubilai Khaan medal, was awarded to Russian researcher, Deputy Director of the Institute of Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences Golenkova Zinaida Tihonovna.

Golenkova Zinaida Tihonovna has made great efforts and contributions to Mongolian academics by holding an annual international scientific conference in Mongolia, providing a platform for scientific research and discussion since 2007, and has organized summer training sessions for young sociologists in Ulaanbaatar since 2010, in collaboration with the Philosophy and Sociology Institute of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences. Golenkova Zinaida Tihonovna has also conducted several research projects on sociology and political science in collaboration with the Mongolian Ministry of Education and Sciences.

The prized Khubilai Khaan medal was presented to the Russian researcher on the occasion of her 75th birthday.
