A poll was conducted to elect the head of the Metropolitan Police Department last week. With 80 percent votes, Ch.Boldbaatar has been appointed to the position. Six candidates were nominated; Ch.Boldbaatar and D.Tserendorj were the top two finalists.
Ch.Boldbaatar has been elected as head of Metropolitan Police Department with the majority votes in the poll. Newly appointed Ch.Boldbaatar graduated from the Police Academy of Mongolia and as a legislator from the Academy of Management from the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Russia as well as public and local administrative manager and qualified Master of Law.
Ch.Boldbaatar began his career as a detective in Bayangol District Police Department, then became an agent in the Criminal Police Department and promoted to Deputy Chairman of Dundgovi Province Police Department. He’s also held positions as Head of Division in Criminal Police Department, Head of Squad in Songino-Khairkhan Police Department until he later took the positions of Deputy head of Metropolitan Police Department in 2012 and Head of Public Discipline. Since February 2014 he has been the acting Head of Metropolitan Police Department.
