Former president of Mongolia, head of MPRP N.Enkhbayar, landed at Chinggis Khaan Airport on Thursday evening. Former president N.Enkhbayar was found guilty in August 2012 of corruption and sentenced to four years in jail. The current president Ts.Elbegdorj pardoned him in August 2013.
Afterward, he left for South Korea to seek treatment because of his poor health.
Former president and head of the MPRP commented on his arrival and health condition. "I arrived home temporally to take a break from the hospital where I have been seeking treatment in South Korea. I will depart back to South Korea as needed. During this sabbatical, I will consider the government’s restructure along with our other party members. I denounce the allegations made by reporters saying my family and I seek political asylum in South Korea; this is totally false. We investigated the reasons behind the false reports published in local sites and media in South Korea and have discovered that it was politically motivated and originated from Mongolia. I do not want to further comment on the issue.”
MPRP’s supporters and members welcomed former president and head of the MPRP.
