The international anti-corruption forum “Transparent Ulaanbaatar -2014” will be held for the first time, on October 6 and 7th, in Ulaanbaatar.
The forum is being initiated by the Ulaanbaatar City Mayor and with support from the City Governor's Office, International Republican Institute (IRI), and Anti-Corruption Agency of Mongolia.
“Transparent Ulaanbaatar -2014” anti-corruption forum has the ambitious goal to pursue Ulaanbaatar's ambitions to make the city transparent to the public, develop a plan to fight corruption at all levels in city and community administration, and to open a branch of the International Anti-Corruption Academy in Ulaanbaatar. The forum will adopt two main documents, including the "Ulaanbaatar Declaration", and proposals for an Ulaanbaatar anti-corruption strategy plan.
The forum will be attended by 258 participants, including the President of Mongolia, Speaker of Parliament, the Prime Minister, city authorities, agency authorities, local governors, district governors and heads of City Representative Khurals, as well as delegates from 42 international organizations in 17 countries, diplomatic officials and diplomatic missions in Ulaanbaatar City, and non-governmental organizations.
The forum's opening remarks will be given by the President of Mongolia, Head of the Anti-Corruption Agency Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar City Mayor and Vice President of the IRI. Keynote speeches will be made by Stanford University Professor Larry Diamond and the Head of the Ulaanbaatar City Governor's Office, Yo.Gerelchuluun.
