The 6th World University Boxing Championship, organized by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), was held in Yakutsk, Russia, from September 10-14th.

The Mongolian university boxing team of eight male and two female athletes grabbed one silver and five bronze medals at the 6th World University Boxing Championship.

In the men's light flyweight 49 kg event, G.Ariunbold won the silver medal, and A.Nurlan (men's lightweight 52 kg), B.Bilguun (men's 56 kg), J.Otgonjargal (75 kg) each won bronze. T.Bolortuul (women's 60 kg) and M.Gundegmaa (60 kg) both won bronze in their  divisions as well.
