Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to Mongolia starts today, August 21st. Xi Jinping landed, along with his wife Peng Liyuan, on a special flight at Chinggis Khaan Airport.  Prime Minister of  Mongolia N.Altankhuyag and his wife Selenge welcomed President Xi Jinping  and his spouse.

The Chinese President is staying at the Best Western Tushiin Hotel on his two-day visit to Mongolia.

According to the schedule of the state visit, a welcoming ceremony for Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife will be held at Chinggis Khaan Square at 4:00 p.m. today.

Following the ceremony, the Presidents of Mongolia and China will have official talks at 4:45 p.m.

After the talks, there will be a signing ceremony on bilateral agreements at 5:45 p.m.

The two presidents will hold a press conference with reporters at 6:00 p.m.

Both parties expect a lot from this high level visit to Mongolia. Mongolia is paying key attention on resolving transit transport issues. The governments of the two countries have planned to sign 11 agreements, including transit transport.

There is also speculation that Mongolia may raise several primary issues, including mercy for Mongolian prisoners sentenced in China, and collaboration against corruption.

Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit is the first by a Chinese president to Mongolia in 11 years.

Over 80 foreign journalists and cameramen arrived in Mongolia to report on the Chinese President's visit.
