A number of cultural events to celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Turkey are scheduled between June 17th and 23rd.
At the same time as the celebration several high ranking visits are scheduled. The Turkish Parliamentary Speaker, Cemil Cicek, will pay an official visit to Mongolia on the invitation of the Mongolian Speaker Z.Enkhbold between June 23rd and 26th.
On June 25th, 20-25 representatives from the Istanbul Entrepreneurs Association, investors and businessmen will visit to Mongolia. The visit will be significant for boosting bilateral economic relations between the two countries.
There will be another wave of visits by representatives of the Turkish scientific studies from 70 Turkish universities.
The National University of Mongolia, a member of the International Association of Silk Road Universities (iaSU) is organizing the event.
The Turkish Ambassador to Mongolia, Murat Karagoz, said that “I give great importance to bilateral relations, in particular to cultural relations between the two countries. So a week-long cultural event on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations will take place. The purpose is to promote Turkish culture and diversity.”
Mongolia and the Republic of Turkey established diplomatic relations on June 24th, 1969. The Republic of Turkey opened its Embassy in Mongolia in 1996.
Turkish Ambassador Murat Karagoz said that “Bilateral relations between Mongolia and Turkey are not limited to only the 45th anniversary. People of the two countries have had good historic relations. Both countries declared their independence in the early 1920’s. Mongolia and Turkey have seen successful development in the education with diplomatic relations. We aim to expand bilateral cultural and economic relations.”
