A new traffic control
center was opened yesterday, with South Korea providing USD 12.8 million for
the installation of an “intelligent” transportation system in Ulaanbaatar. Closed
circuit television (CCTV), VDS and Vehicle Monitoring System and other
equipment have beern installed in roads. The center receives traffic data and on
that basis transmits information and instructions to drivers. New traffic
lights have been installed at 46 crossroads.
