Ts.Sharavdorj,
Secretary General of Parliament’s Office, has said there has been no move to
extend the present session of Parliament beyond the scheduled date of July 5. “Parliament
must decide on many important issues in the short time that is left,” he said. These
include the election law, the Tavantolgoi policy document, amendments to the
Parliament law and others.
“We shall try our
best to discuss the President’s draft law about national security, but it may
not be possible in the time left,” he added. Parliament may hold general
meetings on Wednesdays also, to finish pending work.
The present practice
is for Parliament to have only two general meetings a week. These can be held on
other days only if there are no Standing Committee meetings then, but the Committees
also have their hands full.
