The epidemic of foot and mouth in livestock in Sukhbaatar aimag, Khenti aimag and Dornogovi aimag continues with a total of 2803 cattle being so far destroyed.  A further 2,173,792 livestock have been vaccinated to prevent against the A list infectious foot-and-mouth disease in the quarantine area since the first outbreak on January 27th in Ongon sum in Sukhbaatar aimag. The area has extended to Ongon, Naran, Dariganga, Bayandelger, Tuvshinshiree, Asgat sum in Sukhbaatar aimag, Galshar sum in Khentii aimag, Altanshiree, Delgerekh, Ikhkhet, Sainshand, and Airag sum in Dornogovi aimag
There are 4 decontamination and disinfection points available 24 hours a day at the traffic check points near Ulaanbaatar City, established on the decision of the Ulaanbaatar City Mayor and the National Emergency Management Agency in the attempt to prevent an outbreak in the City.

The foot-and-mouth disease has recently spread to Airag and Sainshand sum in Dornogovi aimag. The Emergency Management Office in Dornogovi aimag set a new quarantine in the territory prohibiting traffic of passenger cars and vehicles over 5 tons on the Ulaanbaatar-Sainshand and Ulaanbaatar-Zamyn-Uud routes from February 24th.
