The International Buryat National festival of Altargana-2014 has been scheduled to be held in Mongolia for July 25th. The Organizing committee of the Altargana-2014 festival are divided on where to hold the festival this year. Since 1994 when the first International Buryat national festival of Altargana was hosted in Dadal sum in Khentii aimag, the festival has been organized every two years over two decades with new diversity. Over the past years the festival was hosted in Ulan-Ude in Russia and Shinhen in Inner Mongolia.

Most members of the organizing committee of the international festival of Buryats suggested holding the festival again in Dadal sum in Khentii aimag. However due to lack of infrastructure other member suggested holding it in the administrative center of Khentii, Chinggis city, formerly Undurkhaan sum. Dadal sum needs 1.8 billion MNT for the improvements and construction of infrastructure road and bridges. 

This year, Khentii aimag will mark the 170th anniversary of the birth of local noble chief, Purevdorj Minjuurdorj, and the 90th anniversary of the establishment of Galshar sum.

Dadal sum in Khentii aimag is believed to be the home place of Chinggis Khan. There are dozens of precious heritage sites in Dadal sum.  The governor of Dadal sum hopes the sum will become convenient as a travel center when the infrastructure issues are decided.
