A 23 year-old mother of one gave birth to quadruplets at the National Centre for Maternal and Children”s Health on Monday December 23rd, 2013, a first for the country say doctors. Khandsuren from Mandal sum Selenge province had three boys and a girl.

A young couple say they both have a generation of twins in their families. The births took place without any complications, according to doctors at the National Centre for Maternal and Children”s Health. The mother is in good physical condition. Babies were placed in an intensive care unit but are believed to be in a good condition.

Doctors say that this is the first time for quadruplets to be born at the National Centre for Maternal and Children”s Health in 20 years. Quadruplets were born 1.5-2.7 kg.
