
Marathon 2013 that kicked off in Osaka, Japan. The marathon saw the
participation of 31,863 runners from 35 countries and regions from all
over the world.
The 3rd edition of the marathon event was organized by the Osaka Prefectural Government, the city of Osaka and the Osaka Association of All Athletics.
The organizers of the Osaka Marathon 2013 invited the best five marathon runners from Mongolia to participate. One of the officially invited runner, B.Ser-Od, claimed a silver medal with a time of 2 hours, 13 minutes and 31 seconds.
B.Ser-Od successfully ran in the 2012 Osaka Marathon and took first place by running the 42km race in 2 hours, 11 minutes and 52 seconds.
But this year he was defeated by Kenyan runner Jackson Limo. Kenyan runner Jackson Limo won the gold medal with a time of 2 hours, 12 minutes and 06 seconds. Japanese runner Atsushi Hasegawa was close on the heels of B.Ser-Od, gaining the bronze medal with a time of 2 hours, 15 minutes and 53 seconds.
For the female runners, Kenyan runner Monica Jepcoech took the gold with a time of 2 hours, 39 minutes and 23 seconds, while Japanese runner Yuri Yoshizumi won silver with a time of 2 hours and 41 minutes. Bronze was gained by Japanese runner Kiyoko Shimahara with a time of 2 hours, 44 minutes and 37 seconds.
