The Governor General of Canada, David Johnston, is making an official visit to Mongolia along with his spouse between October 24th and 26th 2013.

Governor General Johnston landed at Chinggis khan airport at 10:00 pm on Thursday October 24th.

Today, the first day of the official visit to Mongolia, President Ts.Elbegdorj welcomed Governor General Johnston at Chinggis square with a guard of honour.

Governor General Johnston visited Column Hall at Government house and left a note in the Guest Book. President Ts.Elbegdorj and the Governor General of Canada had individual meetings and official talks at the Ceremonial Hall of Government House.  Governor General Johnston delivered an address for the State Great Khural (Parliament) in honor of the 40th anniversary of Canadian-Mongolian diplomatic relations.

In honor of the official visit by the Governor General of Canada, an education fair of Canada is being held in Mongolia for the first time. Over 20 education institutions and organizations of Canada are being represented at the event.
