A copper concentrate shipment from Oyu Tolgoi has been held at the Chinese border warehouse for four months due to a dispute between Oyu Tolgoi customers and Chinese custom officials over the shipment approvals.
The Oyu Tolgoi customers and Chinese custom officials have now resolved the dispute and the delivery to customers of the first 1000 tons of purchased concentrate that was being held in a warehouse commenced last Saturday.
Oyu Tolgoi has announced that the company can now expect revenue from the copper concentrate shipment.
Oyu Tolgoi LLC is optimistic about target goals this year reporting that production at Oyu Tolgoi was not impacted by the concentrate shipment delayed at Chinese customs. According to a report on October 18th, 38 thousand tons of concentrate was locked in a Chinese border warehouse. The delivery of copper concentrate from the warehouse to customers is expected to happen quickly.
