The medical staff are on strike because they oppose the appointment of the new director Ts.Enkhbayar, who was appointed by Minister of Health N.Udval, claiming the appointment was made without fair competition.
The snubbed director of the National Trauma Orthopedic Research Center Ts.Enkhbayar was formerly the Surgery Director of the Neurosurgery Team of Achtan Elite private hospital.
Over 100 signatures from the 512 medical doctors and specialists at the research centre in question have signed a petition to be dismissed opposing the illegal decision.
During a press conference held by the medical doctors and specialists of National Trauma Orthopedic Research Center they claimed that “the Director of the hospital should be appointed through fair competitiveness. But this appointment did not meet international standards. We want a leader who can supervise the hospital at an international level.”
Some local reports are commenting that such action is biased or motivated by the former authorities of the hospital.
The medical doctors and specialists of National Trauma Orthopedic Research Center started the strike on September 26th delaying scheduled surgery procedures but carried out any urgent surgery. They carried out the scheduled 20 surgery procedures the next day.
