The “Khaan Quest-2013” international military exercises for peacekeeping operations will take place near Ulaanbaatar starting tomorrow on August 3rd and 4th.

Tajikistan will be taking part in the multi-national peace-keeping exercises in Mongolia for the first time. Lt. Col. Tokhir Khairulloyev from the Tajik army stated “Almost every country with peace-keeping units will be participating in the Mongolian exercise. [Mongolia] has a strong reputation and experience in peace-keeping missions, and to this day its troops are participating in such missions. We”re lucky to be able to learn from the experience of countries like Mongolia and Nepal.”

Participants include military engineers, medical experts and construction engineers of the Mongolian Armed Forces and of the Rifle Corps from the US, as well as servicemen from Australia, Canada, France, Germany, UK, Japan, India, Indonesia, Nepal, South Korea, Tajikistan and Vietnam.

The annual Khan Quest peace-keeping exercise sponsored by US Armed Forces and hosted annually by the Mongolian Armed Forces has been conducted since 2003 and became a multi-national exercise in 2005.
