Kirsan Nikolayevich Ilyumzhinov, the President of the Republic of Kalmykia in the Russian Federation and the President of FIDE (the World Chess Federation) landed at Chinggis Khaan airport at 10 am today.

Kirsan Nikolayevich Ilyumzhinov is visiting in Mongolia upon the invitation of President Tsakhia Elbegdorj. The President of the World Chess Federation plans to meet representatives of the Mongolian Chess Federation during a meeting which be held at 11 am today.  They will sign an agreement to hold an international, high rating chess competition.

Kirsan Nikolayevich Ilyumzhinov once promised to support Mongolia in establishing a Chess Palace during an official visit to Mongolia in 2008.

The Mongolian Chess Federation announced that they would give a brief about the visit of the President of the World Chess Federation, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, and the cooperation agreement  this afternoon.
