The Association of Mongolian Composers is to host the annual Morin Khuur festival at the Palace of Culture on February 3rd 2013.

The 26th year of the festival will be organized for the third time under the direction of President Elbegdorj Tsakhia.

The festival‘s aim is to pick to the best song of the year and name the 25 best songs out of over 100 nominated songs. All the best songs will be played at Gala concert in honor of the festival.

The festival was first held by the Association of Mongolian Composers and the Mongolian National Broadcasting Television under the name of “Morin Khuur” in 1987.

The first winner of the festival was Cultural Laureate Ch. Sangidorj with his song Mongol Dalai.
