The Authority of the Ulaanbaatar Master Plan submitted 12 plans to partially develop Ulaanbaatar city in order to present them to the Citizens` Representative Khural on January 31st.

The plan is designed to evacuate neighborhoods near cemeteries, ravines and dams in ger districts.

The plans now need to be approved by the City Authority. The named neighborhoods include Bayankhoshuu, area of the 21st khoroo, Ikh Naran, Baga Naran in Songinokhairkhan district, near Altan-Ulgii cemetery in Bayanzurkh district where residents live near the neighboring silent city.

Specialized agencies provided evidence that numerous toxic substances are in the soil around cemeteries. The risk of bacteria from a cemetery leaking being exposed into the air due to rain water or sinking into the soil or water table is high in summer time.

It is estimated that 185 households are in the ger district. Most of them are still not able to have toilet and sanitation facilities.

A study shows that between 3-4 percent radioactive material can be found in drinking water in the City.

The presentation of the12 plans to develop the city consists of options on how to develop eight ger district areas in the city. The Authority for the Master Plan will present the plans for the re-arrangements of the ger district development in 100 ail, the ger district in Bayangol, Denjiin myanga, 10th khoroo in Songinokhairkhan district, Dambadarjaa and Chingeltei ger district area in 2013-2014 to the Citizens` Representative Khural.

The plan is designed to implement the re-arrangement between a10 to 14 hectare area of 87 to 200 households per year.
