During Saturday’s Cabinet meeting the Government has made a decision to make a museum for the history of dinosaurs with the purposes of protecting, registering, verifying and promoting  paleontological findings and cultural heritage to the public.

The decision led the Government to identify a museum dedicated to Russian communist revolutionary  B.I.Lenin as a possible site for the dinosaur museum.

Currently there is no appropriate place to place and store the ancient voluminous exhibits and findings  in Ulaanbaatar city except the museum. But MPP who is responsible for the museum has failed to use the museum properly.

A reservation for the museum construction was made by the Ministry for Culture in 1974 and it was built with State budget assets. After the owner of the building, the Historical Institute of MPRP was abolished, MPRP has used the building as a commercial property instead.

Currently there are 200 exhibits in the Paleontological center of the Science and Technology Academy, 90 shows in European Exhibitions, 26 in Asian Exhibitions and 150 in the Natural History museum.
