The Government of Mongolia made a decision to establish a system regulating internet comments during Saturday`s cabinet meeting.

The regulation is designed to register internet users before they leave a comment on news websites. In short it means the State is to control cyber freedoms.

But the decision caused the public to speak out about their concerns. Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag was scheduled to discuss the issue with the authorities of News Websites today. He did not attend the meeting excusing himself with personal reasons.

Instead Ch.Saikhanbileg, the Minister of the Cabinet Office of the Government of Mongolia and  Ts.Jadambaa, the head of the Information Communications Technology and Post Authority of Mongolia attending the meeting.

Ch.Saikhanbileg, the Minister of the Cabinet Office of the Government firmly announced that there would be “no interview on camera” at the beginning of the meeting. Therefore all cameramen had no choice but to leave the meeting.

Ts.Jadambaa, the head of the Information Communications Technology and Post Authority cautioned them not to give away any information about the meeting.

The meeting was held at Government House.  Representatives of almost 30 News Websites were presented.
