Today the first tournament of 2013 started at the Central Sport Palace. The Mongolian Judo Association is organizing the Judo State Championship from January 7th to January 11th.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          The tournament will run an individual competition on 7th and 8th and a team competition on 9th as scheduled. Over 280 male and female judokas from 22 organizations will compete in 7 different categories.

On the first day of the tournament champions for the male flyweight 60kg, 66kg and 73kg categories and the female flyweight 48kg, 52kg, 57kg and 69kg will be named.

Preliminary competitions started today at 10.00 am but the opening ceremony for the Judo State Championship will start at 15.00 pm.

The final competitions of the various categories will run as scheduled following this.

The 73kg category of the tournament is expected to be main competition. The reason is London 2012 Olympic bronze medalist, State Honored Athlete, S.Nyam-Ochir, World Champion Kh.Tsagaanbaatar and Champion of Masters S.Myaragchaa will compete in this category. International Master D.Tumurkhulug will compete in the 66kg category while 2008 Beijing Olympic champion and London 2012 Olympic silver medalist N.Tuvshinbayar and State Honored Athlete M.Bundmaa are expected to miss the tournament.
