Ulaanbaatar city traditionally welcomes the New Year by lighting the New Years Tree in Sukhbaatar Square just before the New Year every year. This year the New Year`s tree lighting ceremony was publicly held on Sunday 16th. The City`s Governor and Major of Ulaanbaatar city, E.Bat-Uul, and school pupils from the best schools in the city lit the New Year`s tree. During the official ceremony the City Governor shared his childhood New Year`s memories with the children.

According to the press office of Ulaanbaatar city the New Year`s tree lighting ceremony will be held as a tradition every year.
