On the 1st of September 2012, 17.6
thous.tons of potatoes, 15.4 thous.tons of vegetables were harvested and 332.2
thous.tons of gross hay harvest, 4.6 thous.tons of handmade fodder were
produced. Compared to same period of the previous year, potatoes rose by 687 t
or 4.1 percent, vegetables down by 4.1 thous.t or 20.9 percent, gross hay
harvest down by 100.3 thous.t or 23.2 percent, and handmade fodder down by 4.7
thous.t or 50.7 percent. 

In the first 8 months of 2012, the total industrial output increased by
100.2 bln.tog or 7.8 percent to 1380.6 bln.tog (at 2005 constant prices)
compared to same period of the previous year. The increase in the industrial
output was mainly due to 0.9-53.0 percent, increases in mining and quarrying
products such as copper concentrate with 35 percent, molybdenum, with
concentrate, zincum concentrate, iron ore, and crude oil and 1.9 percent to 6.3
times increases in industrial main products of manufacturing sector such as
spirit, flour, fodder, soft drinks, sawn wood, kind of sausage, alcoholic
beverage, bakery products, carpet, knitted goods, bread,  milk, metal
foundries, metal steel, beer, electric wire, plastering mortar, metal sleeper,
and plank for floor. 

In the first 8 months of 2012, 13256.2 thous.t freight and 2733.1
thous.passengers (double counting) were carried by railway transport. 
Compared to same period of the previous year, the number of carried freight
rose by 1485.9 thous.t or 12.6 percent and the number of carried passengers
rose by 163.0 thous.persons or 6.3 percent. Due to the increase in carried
freight and passengers, revenue from railway transport increased by 24.8
bln.tog or 9.7 percent to 278.9 bln.tog in the first 8 months of 2012, compared
to same period of the previous year.  

In the first 8 months of 2012, 2689.3 t freight and 521.4
thous.passengers (double counting) were carried by air transport. Compared to
same period of the previous year, the number of carried freight increased by
1063.2 t or 65.4 percent, the number of carried passengers rose by 142.5
thous.persons or 37.6 percent. Due to the increase in carried freight and
passengers, revenue from air transport increased by 17.0 bln.tog or 15.6
percent to 126.1 bln.tog in the first 8 months of 2012, compared to same period
of the previous year. 

According to the report of the Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology,
maximum precipitation was registered in Mandal soum (128.1 mm) of Selenge aimag
in August 2012. In August 2012, Jinst soum of Bayan-Khongor aimag had the
highest air temperature (39.0°C), while Otgon soum of Zavkhan aimag, Jargalant
and Bayanbulag soums of Bayan-Khongor, and Renchinlkhumbe soum of Huvsgul aimag
had the lowest air temperature (5.0°C). Wind speed reached 27 m/sec in Altai
soum of Govi-Altai aimag.  

Daily average concentration of nitrogen dioxide exceeded 29 times around
the 13th micro district of Ulaanbaatar city, 3 times around the Offitseruudiin
ordon, daily average concentration of sulphur dioxide exceeded 1 times around
the 13th micro district, particulate matter less than 10 micrograms exceeded 25
times around the West crossroad, 20  times around Kharkhorin market, 16
times around the 13th micro district, and 13 times around the 32nd Toirog,
particulate matter less than 2.5 micrograms exceeded 7 times around the West
crossroad from the maximum allowable concentration of air quality standard in
August 2012.   

In the first 8 months of 2012, 2784 disasters and accidents occurred. As
a result, 176 people died, 9.0 thous.livestock and animals had lost. There were
2385 structure fires, 163 forest fires and wildfires, 79 accidental drowning
and submersion incidents, 34 heavy rain and floods, 28 animal madness diseases,
18 severe storms, 17 incidents related to artisan mining rock falls, 15 thunder
occurred, 13 malignant anthrax, and 10 emergency calls related to chemical
substance usage made in the first 8 months of 2012.  In the first 8 months
of 2012, estimated damage caused by the disasters and accidents amounted to
15.1 bln.tog. 

Compared to same period of previous year, disaster and accidents
occurred increased by 489, people died up by 25.
