On the 25th anniversary of the
establishment of diplomatic relations between the United States and Mongolia,
U.S. Chamber Senior Vice President for International Affairs Myron Brilliant is
leading the organization’s first ever business delegation to Mongolia to
underscore the importance of U.S.-Mongolia relations and promote growing
commercial opportunities for American companies in the country.
“Our visit underscores the commitment of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to
strengthening our economic partnership and building lasting partnerships with
the newly formed government and the people of Mongolia.”
The U.S. Chamber launched a Mongolia Working Group in 2011 to
institutionalize a platform to promote bilateral ties and engagement between
the U.S. and Mongolian governments and business sectors. The Chamber was
honored to host President Elbegdorj during his visit to the United States in
June 2011 for his only address to the American business community. This
delegation furthers the shared objective of deepening and broadening engagement
of the American business community with the Mongolian government and Mongolian
industry.
During the visit, Brilliant will highlight the role of American investors in
bringing the latest technology, highest standards of corporate governance and
transparency, and strong commitment to corporate social responsibility to
Mongolia. He will also underscore American business’ long-term commitment to
helping develop the Mongolian economy, helping realize the full potential of
its natural resources, and fostering sustainable growth that benefits all
Mongolians.
“The Chamber and our members recognize Mongolia’s remarkable track record of
sustainable economic development and reform, which is fueling unprecedented
trade and investment opportunities that will benefit the Mongolian people,”
Brilliant continued. “We support and encourage Mongolia to continue to promote
open markets that will maximize the benefits of foreign investment and boost
the country’s economic development and prosperity.”
The U.S. Chamber is the world’s largest business federation representing
more than 3 million businesses and organizations of every size, sector, and
region.
