Children and adolescence festival “Mungun kharaatsai” of folk art to select the most talented children was held at Nairamdal Center on February 16.

This is the first festival of children and adolescence and 300 talented children from Umnugobi, Uvs, Dundgobi, Sukhbaatar, Bayan-Ulgii, Khovd, Gobi-Altai, Dornogobi, Orkhon, Bulgan, Khentii, Arkhangai, Zavkhan, Uvurkhangai, and Selenge aimags and Ulaanbaatar competed in it.

“Mungun kharaatsai” festival has aimed to advertise folk and ethnic arts to children and adolescence, teach, form ideology of national culture and arts and select the most talented children and bands.

Gifted children performed songs, dances, music performances, and ethnic arts. The most talented children have been granted by awards for solo singer, vocal dancer, the best band, vocal musician, and ethnic art performance. Besides, the festival selected the best sponsor organization that supports children performance of folk art. Morin khuur band “Ochirvaaniin egshiglen” from Zavkhan aimag with 999 children morin khuur players was selected as the sponsor organization.

Children of fosterling house of the capital watched the performance and some officials of the state organizations, art, culture, and business attended the festival.

The Secretary General of Mongolian National Commission for UNESKO, G.Jargalsaikhan, stated that the commission cooperates with Nairamdal Center, which works for children’s good future. The commission and Nairamdal Center will jointly organize Art Festival of Eastern Asian Children in Mongolia in August. The official added that “Mungun kharaatsai” festival will be annually organized.
