A team of five women mountain climbers from the city of Erdenet recently left for Tanzania to attempt to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. The team is headed by B.Gangaamaa, the first Mongolian woman to climb Mt. Everest.

The women plan to climb Kilimanjaro on February 21 and to raise the Mongolian flag on the summit on February 22, the first day of the year of the dragon.

Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano in Kilimanjaro National Park. It is the highest mountain in Africa at 5,895 meters (19,341) feet above sea level.
