An international conference on food security will be held on Thursday under the sponsorship of the President.

The President’s Office, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Standing Committee on Environment, Food and Agriculture, and the General Agency for Specialized Inspection are jointly organizing the event.

Delegates will discuss international experiences in food security, and ways to implement international standards and food security legislation in Mongolia. Representatives from the President’s Office, Parliament, National Security Council, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Nature, Environment and Tourism, Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, and the General Agency for Specialized Inspection will take part in conference.

Delegates from the IFC, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, the European Union, the World Bank, and food security experts from Russia, China, Lithuania, and the United Kingdom will read reports on food issues.
