The MPP is holding its third conference at its Independence Palace headquarters on Thursday. Parliament has gone into recess to allow the MPP caucus to take part in the conference. Parliament will be back in session on Friday.

About 200 delegates will participate in the conference, and they are expected to ratify the party’s “People’s Development” program. The program is based on suggestions made by citizens during the MPP’s “To Hear the People” campaign, a series of forums that was held in the 21 aimags, nine districts of the capital, 283 soums, and 152 khoroos from January 2010 to November 2011.

MPP officials say implementation of the party’s development program will dramatically increase per capita GDP.
