DP caucus chairman N.Altankhuyag noted that the MPP nominated its Secretary General for first deputy prime minister and the Secretaries State of two ministries to become ministers. He said the DP opposed those nominations because they would turn the government into an election campaign headquarters. He also rebutted MPP caucus chairman U.Enkhtuvshin’s charge that state work was delayed due to the DP caucus. N.Altankhuyag explained that the DP has not delayed state work.
MP Z.Enkhbold opposed the appointment of D.Khayankhyarvaa as finance minister and said that an aimag lost MNT 800 million to embezzlement when D.Khayankhyarvaa was the governor of the aimag. MPs discussed the problem of air pollution in the capital and asked the newly-appointed ministers to work on the issue. MPs said the best way to solve the problem is to develop ger districts. Ts.Dashdorj, the new minister for road, transportation and urban development, stated that a “100,000 apartments” project has been planned for ger districts, and the Government has approved its implementation. In the first phase of the project, 75,000 apartments will be made available to citizens. Ts.Dashdorj said loans should be made available for citizens to purchase apartments. Ts.Dashdorj also said the domestic production of building materials should be increased, because 65 to 70 percent of such material is currently imported.
