The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade organized a research conference on Mongolia-U.S. relations on Thursday in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

Ministry officials, US ambassador to Mongolia Jonathon Addleton, scholars, researchers, diplomats, historians, and state officials took part in the conference.

Delegates discussed economic cooperation between the two nations and other issues. Participants read papers on the topics “Economic cooperation between the USA and Mongolia: Moving from aid relations to economic partnership;” “Perspectives on trade and economic cooperation between Mongolia and the USA;” “Collaboration in the science sector between Mongolia and the USA;” and “Defense sector cooperation between Mongolia and the USA”.

Diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the U.S. were established on January 27, 1987.
