Prime Minister S.Batbold submitted a proposal to change the government structure on Thursday. The move was seen as an effort at compromise with President Ts.Elbegdorj and Speaker D.Demberel.

The proposal would eliminate the post of first deputy prime minister. It has been prepared in accordance with the law on government.

The Premier says the government structure that was approved by Parliament in 2008 will be changed and the deputy prime minister will assume the first deputy prime minister’s duties on the Authority for Fair Competition and Consumers and with the Standardization and Measurement Office, and the justice and internal affairs minister will assume the first deputy prime minister’s duties at the Intellectual Property Office and the State Registration General Office.
