Sharyn Gol says the reserve is fully compliant with the Mongolian Mineral Reserve Reporting Standard and is now registered with the Mongolian Mineral Reserve Fund. This more than doubles the company’s previous reserve estimate, and follows its 2010 drilling program.
“The newly approved reserve is a significant landmark in the redevelopment of Sharyn Gol,” said the company’s chairman, Batkhuu Batmunkh.
Sharyn Gol has also announced that Graham Chapman has been appointed to the company’s board of directors, following the resignation of Ian Spence.
Chapman, a British citizen, is also currently the chief executive officer of Hulaan Coal Corporation, a private Canadian company developing coal projects in Mongolia.
