On Thursday, officials with the Confederation of Trade Unions (CTU) visited Narantuul Market to survey prices and meet with vendors.

CTU President S.Ganbaatar said the organization is fighting price increases in the country. He said the officials would also inspect the working conditions and safety of the market’s vendors.

Government members including Prime Minister S.Batbold received representatives of the CTU on January 24. The Premier suggested protesters who demonstrated against rising prices at Sukhbaatar Square should enter negotiations with Mongol Bank, businesses, and the CTU.
