The Weather Institute is predicting snow and cold temperatures beginning on Wednesday.

A National Emergency General Board official told our correspondent that 80 percent of the country is now covered with snow, with some aimags, including Dornod, Bulgan, Zavkhan, Uvs, and Sukhbaatar, reporting between 20 cm and 30 cm on the ground.
Some 12 soums, including Bulgan soum of Bayan-Ulgii aimag, Burt soum of Uvurkhangai aimag, and Numrug of Zavkhan aimag, will face harsh weather conditions in the coming days, with snow and heavy winds expected from January 25 to 28. Pastureland is already under thick snow. 

The office is warning herders and travelers to be cautious.
