After successive victories in the first two
rounds at the ongoing FIDE Grand Prix tournament in

against the rating favorite of the tournament Humpy Koneru from
disappointed her supporters by losing in the next two rounds.
In the fourth, she was defeated by Tatyana
Kosintseva, who os the present leader with 3.5 points. The Spanish game saw
both players adhere to an unhurried, maneuver-heavy style of play. Gradually
the Russian player managed to outplay her opponent and gain by an exchange.
The FIDE Women Grand Prix is a new series of elite
tournaments organized by the FIDE and Global Chess. There will be six legs over
two years around the world with three tournaments every year.
The next series will be held in
from July 29 to August 12, and
October 27 to November 9.
