G.Ariunbaatar of Suld Ensemble was named an Honored Actor by a decree of President Ts.Elbegdorj on December 28. G.Ariunbaatar won first place in the 24th International Vocal Contest named after the Russian composer Mikhail Glinka, which was held in Moscow from December 3 to 14.

Other performers and artists were also honored with state medals in connection with the centennial of Mongolia’s independence.

D.Shirmentuya, a singer with Ulaanbaatar Ensemble; S.Barkhas, the director of Bayanzurkh district’s Culture Center and a singer in the band Urguu; and N.Dugar, a singer with the Music and Drama Theatre of Dornod aimag received state medals.
