At the meeting, members also discussed a Constitution Court ruling. The court concluded that a provision of the law on parliament violates the Constitution. The provision would allow the state prosecutor general to recommend to Parliament the dismissal of an MP who has been convicted of criminal activity. The Constitution Court suspended the provision on October 21.
E.Bat-Uul said he opposes the court’s ruling because MPs acting in their official capacity should be held to a higher standard than other individuals.
