The publication State Data presented its first award on Monday, and Secretary General of Parliament’s Office Ts.Sharavdorj announced the winner.

The publication has decided to honor news outlets that promptly report Parliament’s activities to the public in a reliable fashion.

Altogether 22 newspapers, 18 televisions, four websites, and 50 journalists from 30 press organizations took part in the selection process.

The winner was the news.mn website and News Agency Deputy Director D.Narantuya was presented with the MNT 1 million award on Monday.

Secretary General of Parliament’s Office and Chief of State Data publication council Ts.Sharavdorj said the press has the responsibility to openly, transparently, and fairly report state activity to the people. Parliament and Parliament’s Office supports the press in these efforts, he noted.
